Magical Holistic Market a monthly event at the Okanagan Mission Community Centre, Lakeshore Drive, Kelowna BC
Next: Sunday February 19th 2012
Start the day with a colour for your self! You can do that by eating from one of my foodsafe, dishwasher safe and lead free glass dishes. Healing through colour is an ancient concept. Each colour component of light also has its own vibratory wavelength and specific qualities of energy capable of affecting the whole gamut of human emotions.
For example blue is a peacemaker, yellow uplifts, red can change inability to positive action and green can stabilize and center a person to improve selfesteem. (Aura-Soma, Vicky Wall)
See you at the Holistic Market on February 19th 2012
My Artwork
I had a chance to work with glass artist Glennie in Canmore, AB who gave me the 'glass bug'. Back in the Okanagan it was David Montpetit at 'glass works' studio in Lake Country BC who taught me the basic skills. To both I am grateful for their teachings and both gave me the confidence to continue on this most exciting path as a glass artist.
I work with fusible glass that is handmade by Bullseye in Portland OR. They are known for their quality and expertise in art glass. Glass is available in sheet glass, frits, powders and stingers and I can choose from a huge palette of irresistible colors, textures and more.
At the moment I keep it simple and work with shape, forms and colour contained in plates and platters. You can enjoy these beautiful art dishes in your home and at your table. They are food and dishwasher safe.
When I need to strech and do bigger work there is room for that too. Below is one of my paintings translated into a glass panel of 22"x32".

Why Healing Feather?
My first website was created to promote my energy healing practice and I was looking for a name that would reflect that. The name “Healing Feather” came to me by looking around my house and I saw feathers on shelves, in vases, tucked behind a frame ... I was not aware how many feathers beautify my home. There are goose feathers I found walking along Okanagan Lake. A bunch of peacock feathers grace a corner that were given to me and there are those beautiful colorful parrot feathers from my cousin. He raised all kinds of parrots and at the same time acted as a watchdog to prevent illigal export of endangered species. My cousin no longer raises birds but excells as a metal sculptor. Check my exhibition in Bolligen and you see his work. But here I am still looking for a name and still looking at my collection of feahters. I do not collect feathers in particular, but have friends and sometimes strangers that give me their special feather, as if they would present me with a healing feather.
Feathers are light, warm and when greased repelle the water. They are instrumental for flight, or to impress while mating. To me a feather is beautiful and I observe how the color changes depending on the light. Feathers are used in many cultures as a cleansing tool. One of the most common methods of using feathers is to cleanse the aura. Dusting off our aura is just like dusting off furniture. It feels wonderful to be caressed by an eagle's feather and you feel much lighter after the sweep.
The healing energy of the feather serves us in many ways. Like energy healing the feather is light and powerful

About Me
My name is Annemarie Fux and I grew up in the midst of the Swiss Alps. In 1980 I came to live in Canada. My first home was in Valemount BC, right between the Cariboo-Range and the Rocky Mountains. A beautiful place I still long for. From 1988 - 2009 Vernon BC became home, then I moved to Kelowna B.C.
In January 2011 I opened an Art Glass Studio in West Kelowna, which is my pride and joy. Please come visit and enjoy all that beautiful fused glass work. The colors, forms and shapes are all new. Everything is created with much joy and I am busy not only to create functional art, but also art.
Now being very engaged in my work at the studio friends are asking if I still do healing work. The short answer is yes.
The conflict between fine art and healing art, which I felt for many years is no longer. I do both when called for. After all I took many courses and workshops to understand how energy moves and how I can influence it.
My first introduction to energy work was Reiki. I accomplished all the courses and then also the master course. The word master has its own charge and I like to translate it in this particular sense, as teacher. I can teach reiki, but I am not a master in the greater sense of the word. I have been a Reiki practitioner since 1997 connected to the universal life force also known as the universal field.
Shamans access the universal field and get information from the other side through an altered state of consciosness. In 2000 I attended a shaman workshop by Michael Harner in Seattle. He is the founder of the Shamanic Foundation and author of the 'Shaman's Way'. In this workshop I expereinced 'the other world' and it felt real. You can ask me about that experience. This intrigued me. Gyzelle Rhyon - Berry, who studied with Michael Harner offers workshops in Voctoria BC. I learned about 'Soul retreval' 'extractions' and 'Dying and Byond'. All of it is an integral part of shamanism.
With Bob, White Raven, I learned about divination by observing nature, or how rocks are cast for example.
I had also training from local medicinemen, this is how the native American Indian is called instead of shaman. Shaman is a Siberien word. In 2003 I met 'White Raven', a medicineman/shaman from the West Coast who lived in Vernon at the time. He approached me and offered his teachings. I trained with him for over 4 months daily from 6 am to 9 am and sometimes full days. Shortly after my training with 'White Raven', 'White Buffalo of many Feather', a shaman/medicineman from the Okanagan tribe contacted me. Both were convinced that they have to teach me their ways so I can become a true shaman. I accepted and learned about the ancient ways. As a passing grade I went through a naming ceremony and carry now also a shaman name.
Before this significant training with the indiginous medicinemen I took workshops with Diana McHugh from the Mandela Bookstore in Kelwona. I had extensive training in Reiki, enjoyed her lighthearted approach to Tarot, and I got some insights on how to channel. Then I signed up and attended a very involved 'Malchizedek and the Flower of Life' workshop. This workshop was somehow different and I still do not know what I really learned or how to connect it.
Then I saw I shaman at work. A real modern day shaman.
Dr. Richard Bartlett is working with, no, he is in the universal field. He calles it matrix energetics. He can teach it to you, to anybody who is interested to work in that field we are part of. He teaches how to heal, how to rearrange what is diseased to what is at ease. I saw him work and I met people who learned from him. What used to be a gift can now be learned. Your intent and lots of practice will help to achieve what Dr. Bartlett can do with ease.
In May 2011 I attended Dr. Richard Bartlett's workshop on Matrix Energetics in Seattle.
Testimonials
George A.
“At the time when I met Annemarie, I was looking for an alternative solution. After numerous medical and psychiatric tests that assessed me as healthy, I was still not feeling well. My energy level was at a constant low and I was unable to focus. I have a holistic outlook on life and was ready to make changes. In the course of 6 to 7 energy-healing sessions with Annemarie, I felt like my internal “battery” got recharged and I was able now to focus my thoughts better and that definitely reflected in my ability to work and more positive attitude to life. Thank you Annemarie for your help in the difficult time of my life.”
Sarah Z.
Sarah met with me for a complimentary interview. She was suffering from chronic pain and over the years, she went through many different treatments. Needless to say, Sarah has spent a small fortune on her health. She was ready to add spiritual healing to her holistic vision of wellness. The concept of Reiki was new to her and she was not sure if energy healing is in accordance with her religious belief system. With a leap of faith, she decided to try it. Here is her experience: “I have been dealing with debilitating joint pain for 16 years using conventional allopathic remedies. Nothing ever worked. Energy Healing helped me to heal the mental and emotional issues behind the pain. Within six months, I can say I am pain free for the first time. Energy Healing works. Annemarie has been a gift from the Creator.” Thank you ~ Sarah
Healing Sessions
During a Healing Energy session I tune into you, to your energy field and your physical body. The energy field has many levels and each level has its own flow. I scan the vibrations with my hands, slightly above your body. This process allows me to assess where the problem(s) manifest and where the connection is interrupted.
Usually, I guide you through a meditation to help you relax. In this relaxed state, you can allow yourself to receive healing energy. During the session this gentle energy soothes or eliminates physical, mental, and emotional pain. At the same time this energy helps you to recognise what changes need to take place in the future for the benefit of your health.
Before and after each session, I prepare and cleanse my healing room with specific herbs to cerate a sacred place while the session takes place.
I conclude the session with a cup of tea (or coffee) and talk. Each person experiences the healing session in their own way, but all experience a sense of well being.
What is Energy Healing?
Energy Healing is an holistic approach to facilitating the return journey to health. It involves tracing the cause of any suffering through the physical and emotional symptoms to its roots deep within our psyche.
If you are new to the concept of ˜energy healing"., it can be confusing to choose one module above the other:
Reiki is a well-known and accepted module because this energy is never harmful. This gentle energy is transmitted through the healer's hands. The roots of Reiki are in Tibetan Buddhism and rediscovered by Dr. Usui from Japan on his spiritual search. Reiki is a simple healing tool which can only be administered with unconditional love.
The Five Principles of Reiki:
- Do not anger just for today
- Do not worry just for today
- Do work hard, honestly and do your best
- Show gratitude love and respect to all living things
- Live in the present because it is the only real time.
Shamanism
Michael Harner, director of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies is instrumental in the revival of shamanism. The word shaman comes from the Siberian language and applies to either man or woman. The shamanic methods are strikingly similar the world over. Many books about shamanic healing are now available. Still it is important to learn with an experienced shaman, because the shamanic path is complex and not without danger. One aspect of shamanic healing is soul retrieval and extraction. Soul retrieval is the process to retrieve a part or multiple parts of a person’s soul that was left behind due to trauma or frightening circumstances. During the process of extraction mental, emotional, physical blockages or other intrusions are removed.
“Things a Shaman Sees” from Way of the Shaman, Michel Harner page 55 “Everything that is Is alive On a steep river bank There’s a voice that speaks I have seen the master of that voice He bowed to me I spoke with him He answers all my questions”
