Why Healing Feather?
My first website was created to promote my energy healing practice and I was looking for a name that would reflect that. The name “Healing Feather” came to me by looking around my house and I saw feathers on shelves, in vases, tucked behind a frame ... I was not aware how many feathers beautify my home. There are goose feathers I found walking along Okanagan Lake. A bunch of peacock feathers grace a corner that were given to me and there are those beautiful colorful parrot feathers from my cousin. He raised all kinds of parrots and at the same time acted as a watchdog to prevent illigal export of endangered species. My cousin no longer raises birds but excells as a metal sculptor. Check my exhibition in Bolligen and you see his work. But here I am still looking for a name and still looking at my collection of feahters. I do not collect feathers in particular, but have friends and sometimes strangers that give me their special feather, as if they would present me with a healing feather.
Feathers are light, warm and when greased repelle the water. They are instrumental for flight, or to impress while mating. To me a feather is beautiful and I observe how the color changes depending on the light. Feathers are used in many cultures as a cleansing tool. One of the most common methods of using feathers is to cleanse the aura. Dusting off our aura is just like dusting off furniture. It feels wonderful to be caressed by an eagle's feather and you feel much lighter after the sweep.
The healing energy of the feather serves us in many ways. Like energy healing the feather is light and powerful
