About Me
My name is Annemarie Fux and I grew up in the midst of the Swiss Alps. In 1980 I came to live in Canada. My first home was in Valemount BC, right between the Cariboo-Range and the Rocky Mountains. A beautiful place I still long for. From 1988 - 2009 Vernon BC became home, then I moved to Kelowna B.C.
In January 2011 I opened an Art Glass Studio in West Kelowna, which is my pride and joy. Please come visit and enjoy all that beautiful fused glass work. The colors, forms and shapes are all new. Everything is created with much joy and I am busy not only to create functional art, but also art.
Now being very engaged in my work at the studio friends are asking if I still do healing work. The short answer is yes.
The conflict between fine art and healing art, which I felt for many years is no longer. I do both when called for. After all I took many courses and workshops to understand how energy moves and how I can influence it.
My first introduction to energy work was Reiki. I accomplished all the courses and then also the master course. The word master has its own charge and I like to translate it in this particular sense, as teacher. I can teach reiki, but I am not a master in the greater sense of the word. I have been a Reiki practitioner since 1997 connected to the universal life force also known as the universal field.
Shamans access the universal field and get information from the other side through an altered state of consciosness. In 2000 I attended a shaman workshop by Michael Harner in Seattle. He is the founder of the Shamanic Foundation and author of the 'Shaman's Way'. In this workshop I expereinced 'the other world' and it felt real. You can ask me about that experience. This intrigued me. Gyzelle Rhyon - Berry, who studied with Michael Harner offers workshops in Voctoria BC. I learned about 'Soul retreval' 'extractions' and 'Dying and Byond'. All of it is an integral part of shamanism.
With Bob, White Raven, I learned about divination by observing nature, or how rocks are cast for example.
I had also training from local medicinemen, this is how the native American Indian is called instead of shaman. Shaman is a Siberien word. In 2003 I met 'White Raven', a medicineman/shaman from the West Coast who lived in Vernon at the time. He approached me and offered his teachings. I trained with him for over 4 months daily from 6 am to 9 am and sometimes full days. Shortly after my training with 'White Raven', 'White Buffalo of many Feather', a shaman/medicineman from the Okanagan tribe contacted me. Both were convinced that they have to teach me their ways so I can become a true shaman. I accepted and learned about the ancient ways. As a passing grade I went through a naming ceremony and carry now also a shaman name.
Before this significant training with the indiginous medicinemen I took workshops with Diana McHugh from the Mandela Bookstore in Kelwona. I had extensive training in Reiki, enjoyed her lighthearted approach to Tarot, and I got some insights on how to channel. Then I signed up and attended a very involved 'Malchizedek and the Flower of Life' workshop. This workshop was somehow different and I still do not know what I really learned or how to connect it.
Then I saw I shaman at work. A real modern day shaman.
Dr. Richard Bartlett is working with, no, he is in the universal field. He calles it matrix energetics. He can teach it to you, to anybody who is interested to work in that field we are part of. He teaches how to heal, how to rearrange what is diseased to what is at ease. I saw him work and I met people who learned from him. What used to be a gift can now be learned. Your intent and lots of practice will help to achieve what Dr. Bartlett can do with ease.
In May 2011 I attended Dr. Richard Bartlett's workshop on Matrix Energetics in Seattle.
