My name is Annemarie Fux and I grew up in the midst of the Swiss Alps. In 1980 I moved to Canada and since 1988 have made my home in Vernon, B.C. While living in Vernon life took an unexpected turn and I began to reassess my life and values. With three teenagers in my care, I decided to realize an almost forgotten dream from my youth. With the support of my children, I successfully accomplished a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (BFA) in 2002.

In search for the essence of art, I recognized the healer in me. Training Reiki brought up memories of a long time ago when loved ones and complete strangers would ask me to lay my hands on them. Through Reiki initiation, I became again connected to the Universal Life Force. I became a Reiki Master after three years of training in Kelowna B.C. I started to work as a Reiki practitioner in 1997.

My interest in energy healing has continued and I have completed workshops with Michel Harner, founder of The Foundation of Shamanic Studies and author of ‘The Way of the Shaman’, and Gizelle Rhyen - Berry, also of The Foundation for Shamanic Studies. As soon as I started my energy healing practice, “Healing Feather”, I attracted the interest of First Nations medicine men. They were inquisitive and eventually shared some of their knowledge.
